Let me tell you how I understand these words said by one of the greatest Poles ever: Karol Wojtyla (John Paul II).
Once we close our hearts we separate from the outside world. We may have been hurt by others badly so we do not trust anymore and we take on this protection shell. Like a wall around a medieval castle, our mental block divides us from the outside intruders. We want to control what we receive from the outside but as a result we close to many good things too. And the greatest thing we may close to is unconditional love. Life without true love certainly is like a gloomy prison.
We can, however, open up and remain strong inside. How? My favorite Polish poet said: "be as strong and as gentle as a dolphin". The dolphin really is like this and it is so unique in that sense. For me being both strong and gentle is an ideal combination of traits.
 1月30日 let's... "Let's hurry up to love the others as they pass away so quickly". That was written by my favorite Polish poet who passed away just a few days ago. Hey, have you ever wonderd how important it is to really care for others , for your family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, also strangers? Just to care for everyone you meet? You may either make their lives even a little bit better every time you meet or you may deprive them of the rest of hope they have. How can we care? Is that something naive and shallow? I just think we do care for them when we let them be whatever they are, when we open up our hearts to them by listening to their stories, by not criticising them . It is so important to make enough 'space' in our hearts for them so that they can feel there at home . There is no space for looking down on anybody. We may look down on some evil we all do more or less often but there should be no place for any agression . Hope and respect we give to others are like good soil for a plant. It lets the plant develop to its very best. What do you think my dear blog readers?
